{"id":9337,"date":"2017-07-27T06:52:21","date_gmt":"2017-07-27T06:52:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/properties-gate.com\/new\/2017\/07\/foreign-investment-in-turkey-reaches-1-17b-in-may\/"},"modified":"2017-07-27T06:52:21","modified_gmt":"2017-07-27T06:52:21","slug":"foreign-investment-in-turkey-reaches-1-17b-in-may","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/properties-gate.com\/en\/foreign-investment-in-turkey-reaches-1-17b-in-may\/","title":{"rendered":"Foreign investment in Turkey reaches $1.17B in May"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"selectionShareable\">Turkey attracted $1.17 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) in May, the Turkish Economy Ministry announced on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"selectionShareable\">According to a ministry report, foreign direct investment in Turkey amounted to $4.8 billion between January and May 2017, an increase of 11.2 percent compared to the same period in 2016.<\/p>\n<p class=\"selectionShareable\">The financial intermediation sector received the biggest amount of FDI &#8212; $1 billion &#8212; from January to May.<\/p>\n<p class=\"selectionShareable\">Some 345 new companies benefitting from foreign funds were established in Turkey in May, making it, in total, 55,370 companies with international capital operating in the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"selectionShareable\">Between January and May, 2,166 new companies funded by international capital were established in Turkey.<\/p>\n<p class=\"selectionShareable\">In total, 6,981 companies in Turkey are funded by German capital, while investors from the U.K. and the Netherlands have financed 3,021 and 2,745 businesses, respectively.<\/p>\n<p class=\"selectionShareable\">As of May, nearly 40 percent of companies that benefit from foreign funds or participation are linked to EU member countries<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Turkey attracted $1.17 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) in May, the Turkish Economy Ministry announced on Tuesday.
