After launching the new edition of the Renault Clio<\/em><\/strong>, the Turkish city of Bursa is expected to become the capital of Turkey in the automotive industry, being one of the main manufacturing cities for the next generation of Renault Clio in Turkey, which will be launched at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a statement by Mr. Antoine Aoun, the General Manager of the Turkish-French joint Oyak Renault, he said: <\/span><\/p>\n

“We are focused on producing the most perfect and most beautiful car.”<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In an interview with Haber Turk newspaper, Mr. Aoun further stated: “The new Clio will present the first and second generations of semi-automatic driving technology”. He also highlighted some projections about the car’s exterior design after the driving tests in late 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n

Renault Clio was first introduced in 1990, and it had sold up to 13 million units, over 3 decades.<\/span><\/p>\n

In March 2018, Renault announced plans to transfer production of its Clio cars from France to the Oyak Renault factory in Bursa. The company has maintained the title of the largest car producer in Turkey since 1998.<\/span><\/p>\n

The company has also maintained its leadership in this sector, with an increase in production and export over the last year. The company achieved its highest levels of production ever in 2018 by manufacturing 602,421 engines! It ended the year 2018 with 336,888 cars.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, the company has produced 239,591 gearboxes and 708,670 chassis during the same period.<\/span><\/p>\n

Renault Establishes a Plant to Produce Engines in Bursa<\/b><\/h2>\n

In October 2018, Oyak Renault set the foundations for a high-pressure injected aluminum plant in Bursa. The plant costed around $ 115 million, and produced aluminum engines for new-generation hybrid cars.<\/span><\/p>\n

The decision to investment in this project was under the auspices of the project-based incentive system announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan last April.<\/span><\/p>\n

The plant will create numerous job opportunities and increase the volume of Turkish exports of cars, while reducing Turkey’s current deficit by 2.3 billion dollars, according to Mr. Mustafa Varank, Minister of Industry and Technology.<\/span><\/p>\n

In June 2018, the Turkish group Oyak and French Renault signed an agreement in Turkey to expand their partnership for the next 27 years.<\/span><\/p>\n
